Job Hunting Tips

There are many methods which you can use to find a job. The method you use all depends on what you may find convenient to your circumstances. Be it a graduate job or an undergraduate job that you are looking for.

I will suggest that you use a wide variety which are available to you as this will provide you with greater opportunities and a wider scope of finding an ideal job.

Employers advertise their job vacancies using various methods and as a job hunter it will be your responsibility to find out where the jobs are being advertised.

The various methods which employers tend to use include online advertising. This is where a job vacancy is advertised on the internet. Prospective candidates are either encouraged to register their CV's online or apply for the job via an application form which the employer has provided.

Another method which is used is the local or national newspapers. The job vacancies are usually advertised in the job section of the newspapers and an email address or contact number and name is usually provided for applicants to contact if they are interested in the job vacancy.

Recruitment agencies are also used to advertise vacancies by employers. The recruitment consultant works on behalf of a client who is looking to fill a job vacancy and helps to source a candidate whom they believe will fit in well within the company and settle down into the job and who will also be capable of carrying out the tasks that the job entails. For finding the ideal candidate to fill the job vacancy the recruitment consultant can negotiate a fee from the employer. This is done in various ways. It is also a good idea to register with recruitment agencies that cater for the field that you are looking to work in.

Job vacancies can also be found on various television channels and radio stations. With regards to Television the best place to look will be Ceefax channels.

Personal recommendation is also a way which employers use to recruit. This type of recruitment strategy is used by getting recommendation, usually a member of staff already working within the organisation. So it is a good idea to let your friends and foes know if you are looking for a job. Usually the employer  provides some form of reward to the member of staff who has managed to find someone to fill the vacancy after the person employed has successfully completed a set duration within the company.

Networking is also a great way to find an ideal job whether it be a graduate job or just a job to get by whilst studying. In networking events you get to meet various people from all walks of life and talk to them. During networking events you may want to inform people or attendees that you are looking for a job in a specific field and if you are fortunate they may know a company who is looking for someone with your skill set. Getting the word about if you are looking for work provides you with wider options

It is also possible to find jobs at your local job centre. These job vacancies are advertised at the job centres. The job vacancies vary from local jobs to national jobs or international vacancies.

Recruitment fairs are also a place to network and also get yourself in front of a prospective employers. They are usually held by companies who are looking to recruit. The graduate recruitment fairs are usually held at a specific time of the year. There are also other recruitment fairs held by employers looking to recruit no graduates.

A word of advice is to always dress in business attire when going to a recruitment fair and also go along with copies of your CV unless told otherwise.

To sum up the best way to find a job is to broaden your horizon and never get the word out there that you are looking for a job.
